Apple Butter Cream Cheese Danish

  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed according to package directions
  • 6oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup Apple Butter Syrup
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 egg white, room temperature

Preheat oven to 400 degrees and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Beat together the cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg yolk and then add apple butter syrup and vanilla. On a floured surface, roll out pastry sheets. Cut each into four squares. Spread 1-2 heaping tbsp of filling in the middle of each pastry square. Fold each corner to form an X. In a small bowl create an egg wash using the leftover egg white by beating with a small amount of water. Brush on top of each danish. Bake for 20 minutes or until the danishes are golden brown. Drizzle with Blackberry Patch Apple Butter Syrup and enjoy!
